What it's about

I am looking forward to this blog generating some interest and debate. I am starting this blog because I would like to set up a place where mental health professionals can network about how to make a more than decent living in psychology.

At the present time, I am a licensed professional counselor in three states and I am a dissertation defense away from a PsyD in clinical psychology. I am also a certified school psychologist.

As a clinician I have a lot to offer and a lot of ideas to maximize income. For instance, I tend to do my sessions back to back at 45 minutes each. This allows me to work three hours and get paid for four. By doing this, I made about 98K last year (not bad, considering I was also in the midst of a doctoral internship). I tend to catch up on paperwork when there is a cancellation. I am also starting to get involved with presenting in services and work shops and I do private psycho educational evaluations.

I am always hoping to diversify services and look forward to reading posts by others.
